Awkward at meeting my 16 year old self

I just watched a news article of myself, at age 16. I hadn’t seen it in years.

Of course I am critical of myself but:
1) I sound like a country hick.
2) Kinda look like one.
3) Jersey is unflattering/
4) Hair is long, uneven, and ratty. I hadn't cut it in almost two years, I was growing a short boy mohawk thing out.
5) Speak way too fast. Enunciation is still a problem.
6) Awkward in front of the camera, compared to everyone else in clip, especially old S.F.Scott who is relaxed as.
7) I TALK FUNNY, and my mouth looks odd after talking. Like at the end of sentences.
8) I'm sure everyone who reads this will think - but you sound the same now, Sonya. Yeah, okay. I have never liked my Keeeeweeee accent and fast-talkedness or stufff.

I had never had a camera pointed at me before. And they did make me do awkward, lame arty things over and over like speak my poem a million times while walking down a road, by a river.

If you insist, this is the link

I'll stop complaining now.

  1. when you do radio you find out that EVERYONE hates the way they talk. "*insert name here* likes the sound of her own voice" - it's a myth.

    you talk fine

I remember when this happened. Nearly two years ago. Feels like longer, dunnit?
